Patrick Michael "Pat" Baldwin (born 12 November 1982) a footballer, currently playing for Colchester United.

Career

The centre back, signed from Chelsea, won all of Colchester United's player of the year awards for the 2004–05 season including players' player of the year, young player of the year and the fans' player of the year. His contribution to the team during 2005–06 helped Colchester to promotion from League One to the Championship, the highest they have ever been in the football pyramid.

He regained his place in the Colchester First team for the following season, aiding the team to notable victories such as 1–0 against rivals Ipswich Town. He scored his first competitive goal for Colchester in a heated Essex derby match against Southend United on 25 November 2006, which Colchester won 3–0. On 20 November 2009, he Joined Bristol Rovers on loan until January,[1] a spell which saw him play six games for The Pirates.

Baldwin was loaned to Southend United on 29 January 2010 for the rest of the season, along with Colchester team mate Scott Vernon. He made his debut the following day against Swindon Town and scored an 89th minute equaliser as Southend came from 2–0 down to draw 2–2.

Personal life

From 26 June to 28 June, Baldwin completed the Three Peaks Challenge, a charity event which saw him raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust where he climbed Mount Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis. He raised in excess of £700 for the cause.
